    A thorough investigation of the switching dynamics of TiN/Ti/10 nm-HfO2/W resistive memories

    The switching dynamics of TiN/Ti/HfO2/W-based resistive memories is investigated. The analysis consisted in the systematic application of voltage sweeps with different ramp rates and temperatures. The obtained results give clear insight into the role played by transient and thermal effects on the device operation. Both kinetic Monte Carlo simulations and a compact modeling approach based on the Dynamic Memdiode Model are considered in this work with the aim of assessing, in terms of their respective scopes, the nature of the physical processes that characterize the formation and rupture of the filamentary conducting channel spanning the oxide film. As a result of this study, a better understanding of the different facets of the resistive switching dynamics is achieved. It is shown that the temperature and, mainly, the applied electric field, control the switching mechanism of our devices.     Parameter extraction techniques for the analysis and modeling of resistive memories

    A revision of the different numerical techniques employed to extract resistive switching (RS) and modeling parameters is presented. The set and reset voltages, commonly used for variability estimation, are calculated for different resistive memory technologies. The methodologies to extract the series resistance and the parameters linked to the charge-flux memristive modeling approach are also described. It is found that the obtained cycle-to-cycle (C2C) variability depends on the numerical technique used. This result is important, and it implies that when analyzing C2C variability, the extraction technique should be described to perform fair comparisons between different resistive memory technologies.     A Repository of Semantic Open EHR Archetypes

    This paper describes a repository of openEHR archetypes that have been translated to OWL. In the work presented here, five different CKMs (Clinical Knowledge Managers) have been downloaded and the archetypes have been translated to OWL. This translation is based on an existing translator that has been improved to solve programming problems with certain structures. As part of the repository a tool has been developed to keep it always up-to-date. So, any change in one of the CKMs (addition, elimination or even change of an archetype) will involve translating the changed archetypes once more. The repository is accessible through a Web interface (http://www.openehr.es/)

Funding for open access charge: Universidad de Granada/CBUAWe have analyzed variability in resistive memories (Resistive Random Access Memories, RRAMs) making use of advanced numerical techniques to process experimental measurements and simulations based on the kinetic Monte Carlo technique. The devices employed in the study were fabricated using the TiN/Ti/HfO2/W stack. The switching parameters were obtained making use of new developed extraction methods. The appropriateness of the advanced parameter extraction methodologies has been checked by comparison to kinetic Monte Carlo simulations; in particular, the reset and set events have been studied and detected. The data obtained were employed to shed light on the resistive switching operation and the cycle-to-cycle variability. It has been shown that variability depends on the numerical technique employed to obtain the set and reset voltages, therefore, this issue must be taken into consideration in RS characterization and modeling studies.     Resistive memories simulation based on the kinetic Monte Carlo algorithm

    The efforts in this doctoral thesis have been focused on the development of RRAM physical simulators able to reproduce the resistive switching operation that takes place within the devices. The simulators were designed for the two main types of RRAMs, Conductive Bridge RAMs (both for unipolar and bipolar) and for Valence Change Memories. The work includes five publications in scientific journals indexed in the Journal Citation Report of Science Citation Index, one Proceedings published in IEEE Xplore digital library, four contributions to International Conferences. I have also contributed to other publications, where a book chapter is included, three videos detailing the operation of each simulator.Tesis Univ.     Haematological Alterations Associated with Selected Vector-Borne Infections and Exposure in Dogs from Pereira, Risaralda, Colombia

    Infections due to Ehrlichia, Anaplasma, Dirofilaria, Mycoplasma, Babesia and Hepatozoon continue to be highly prevalent in dogs, especially in tropical and subtropical areas, where vectors of many of them are present. However, many clinical aspects of dogs have not been characterized in detail, including assessing the haematological alterations associated with them, particularly in Colombia and Latin America. A group of 100 dogs with Ehrlichia, Anaplasma, Dirofilaria, Mycoplasma, Babesia and Hepatozoon infections/exposure were assessed by blood smear serology (SNAP4DX) and PCR in Pereira, Colombia. We performed blood counts to evaluate anaemia, leukopenia/leukocytosis, neutropenia, neutrophilia, lymphopenia/lymphocytosis, monocytosis, eosinophilia, and thrombocytopenia, among other alterations. Bivariate analyses were performed on Stata®14, with significant p Ehrlichia 75%), and 89% presented clinical alterations. A total of 100% showed anaemia, 70% thrombocytopenia, 61% monocytosis, and 47% neutropenia, among other alterations. Additionally, 11% presented pancytopenia and 59% bicytopenia. The median platelet count was lower in infected dogs (126,000 cells/μL) versus non-infected (221,000 cells/μL) (p = 0.003). Thrombocytopenia was higher among infected dogs (75%) versus non-infected (40%) (p = 0.006), with a 91% positive predictive value for infection. Median neutrophil count was lower in infected dogs (6591 cells/μL) versus non-infected (8804 cells/μL) (p = 0.013). Lymphocytosis occurred only among those infected (27%) (p = 0.022). Leukopenia was only observed among infected dogs (13%). Pancytopenia was only observed among infected dogs. Ehrlichiosis and other hematic infections have led to a significant burden of haematological alterations on infected dogs, including pancytopenia in a tenth of them, most with thrombocytopenia and all anemic
